Places to Visit in Secunderabad: The City You Were Not Aware Of but You Should Visit


Popularly known as the twin city of Hyderabad, Secunderabad falls in the Indian state of Telangana just north of Hyderabad. Though being referred to as the twin city, they both have different histories and cultures respectively. The Hussain Sagar Lake separates it from its twin sibling city. Secunderabad is the go to destination for people coming from all age groups.

The best season for visiting is in the month of February, November, and December. Now when it comes to the tourist spots, there is a hefty lot of good places where the tourist would like visiting.  This city has been under the British regime around 1948 where there were large army establishments along with beautifully crafted villas.

So there remains the silhouette of the old heritages which can be experienced by the tourists. 1. Golconda Fort

More than eight centuries old, this impressive piece of architecture still stands after being one of the wonders of that era. This fort was initially constructed of mud, which then underwent various reconstructions over the years. The Fort has this unique mechanism where a handclap made near the entrance echoes throughout the fort which has a diameter of more than a mile. This mechanism was there to warn the residents of upcoming enemies’ attack.

2. Hussain Sagar Pond

This man made splendor was constructed back in the 15th century which apparently connects both the twin cities. One of the main attractions of this spot is the 16-meter high Buddha statue which is made of white granite, standing in the middle  of the lake. 3. Konaseema

This delta is rich with flora and fauna. The majestic sight of this place will make a nature lover go bonkers. The existence of this site gives us the subtle reminder of how wonderful our life can be. There is lighthouse which located in dense the mangrove vegetation and one just simply can't miss that.

4. Birla Mandir

Situated on Kalapahad hill, this place is the ultimate and most sought-after pilgrim destinations in India. The gorgeous architecture was under the aegis of Raja Baldev Birla. The white marble construction adds to the overall majesty.

5. Saidanimba Tomb

Saidanimba Tomb is one of the most underrated architectural gems which deserves more attention. It might be discolored, but the intricacy of the Mughal and Qutub Shahi architecture is worth a visit.

6. Trimulgherry Fort

Surrounded by a 4.82 km deep canal, the fort now serves as a hospital. In its past, the fort comprised of various arsenals, barracks, stables, residential villas for military officers and houses for the army.

7. All Saints’ Church

Construct in the Gothic style this church still stands today as one of the most majestic architectural splendors in Secunderabad.  The church is undergoing restoration so that it still gets to maintain the architectural intricacy.
